This book really put me in the mood for Halloween， with the pumpkin carving going on at Happy Trails Campground and all of them on display。 It really set the mood for this book。 For Mae and Hank things are not quite how she expected now that he has returned to town。 I was happy to see Mae stand up for herself and the campground， even though I knew she was torn about the decision she was making。 Hank asks Mae and the Laundry Club Ladies to look into a death at Mammoth Cave National Park and they This book really put me in the mood for Halloween， with the pumpkin carving going on at Happy Trails Campground and all of them on display。 It really set the mood for this book。 For Mae and Hank things are not quite how she expected now that he has returned to town。 I was happy to see Mae stand up for herself and the campground， even though I knew she was torn about the decision she was making。 Hank asks Mae and the Laundry Club Ladies to look into a death at Mammoth Cave National Park and they do what they do best。 I love the interactions between the characters and how they support each other through the hard times。 The mystery adds to the enjoyment of the books in this series。 Each book is a fun escape and I can't wait for the next one！I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the author。 Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own。 。。。more

You would think that by the time a series gets to book 22 that the characters and mysteries would be stale。 Not with the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery Series。 Each new book is a fresh mystery and the characters continue to evolve with some leaving and some new ones becoming regulars。 It’s never normal in Normal， KY， and Jackets， Jack-O-Lantern， & Justice takes us to a new place in Kentucky-Mammoth Caves and brings back both Hank and his sister Ellis。 Mae never clicked with Ellis who was spoile You would think that by the time a series gets to book 22 that the characters and mysteries would be stale。 Not with the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery Series。 Each new book is a fresh mystery and the characters continue to evolve with some leaving and some new ones becoming regulars。 It’s never normal in Normal， KY， and Jackets， Jack-O-Lantern， & Justice takes us to a new place in Kentucky-Mammoth Caves and brings back both Hank and his sister Ellis。 Mae never clicked with Ellis who was spoiled and favored by her parents。 This time Ellis returns with her hat in her hands when she is a suspect in a murder and asks for Mae’s help。 It was nice having Hank back and Ellis （and her situation） served as a pothole on the road to reconciliation for Hank and Mae。Once again Mae and the Laundry Ladies come through and solve the case。 The characters are growing and facing new life situations。 It seems like Hank and Mae are heading more toward stable ground and I am looking forward to seeing their relationship continue to develop。 I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review。 。。。more

It's Halloween time in Normal， Kentucky。 The campground is all decked out in spooky decorations。 Mae has organized a pumpkin carving contest for all the guests in her campground。 In the middle of the festivities， Mae finally confronts Hank about his abrupt return to Happy Trails， his new appearance， and the change in campers。 He's trying to stay under the radar while unofficially working on a case。 The case involves his sister， Ellis。 Mae reluctantly agrees to help， all in the name of helping Ha It's Halloween time in Normal， Kentucky。 The campground is all decked out in spooky decorations。 Mae has organized a pumpkin carving contest for all the guests in her campground。 In the middle of the festivities， Mae finally confronts Hank about his abrupt return to Happy Trails， his new appearance， and the change in campers。 He's trying to stay under the radar while unofficially working on a case。 The case involves his sister， Ellis。 Mae reluctantly agrees to help， all in the name of helping Hank out， even if it means avoiding an out-of-town Ranger intent on finding Hank。The author introduced potential suspects， providing the reader with means， motive， and opportunities for each。 Some of the suspects were much stronger than others and it took some deep thinking to get to the bottom of the murder。 There were twists and turns that had me going in one direction only to have the mystery shift。 The author did a great job building up the suspense until the reveal of the murderer and motive。 As Mae unraveled the murder， shocking events are revealed， suspects are added and removed from the list， and danger abounds。As with the rest of the books in the series， the mystery isn't the only thing going on in Normal， Kentucky。 Tonya Kappes did a terrific job of weaving everything together between Hank's return， the murder， and the side stories。 The characters are wonderfully crafted， realistically written， and I feel like I'm coming home to Normal with every book in the series I read。 。。。more

This book is so good and so well matched with the time of the year it's funny i could really imagine the group selecting pumpking and putting decorations with me。I really love Mae and the group it's funny and heartwarming。。。。。even if the group does not like Ellis they will help Mae simply because she is their friend and that link can be stronger than family ties。The investigation is well written， we do get a lot of twists to keep us on edge and totally immersed into the story。 Mae is generous an This book is so good and so well matched with the time of the year it's funny i could really imagine the group selecting pumpking and putting decorations with me。I really love Mae and the group it's funny and heartwarming。。。。。even if the group does not like Ellis they will help Mae simply because she is their friend and that link can be stronger than family ties。The investigation is well written， we do get a lot of twists to keep us on edge and totally immersed into the story。 Mae is generous and courageous， i'm still angry at Hank 。。。。。 really the only thing that bothered me this time is that while the investigation is solved we don't see the impact on the main investigator and i would have loved to see it as Buxley isn't my favourite。 It seemed to have a too big gap between the resolution and then the ending with Mae and Hank " hea"That being said it's still an excellent cozy mystery with wonderful southern atmosphere to be read 。。。more

I always love coming back to Normal， Ky。 The Laundry Club Ladies are wonderful and as always they were great again。 Hank is back but is there a problem。 This one has lots of laughs and I love the descriptions of Mammoth Caves。 The Halloween party they go to is great and their costumes are perfect。 I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will。

It was almost too good to be true。 Hank was back in Normal。 He missed Mae and wanted to get back together， but something wasn’t adding up。 Mae and the Laundry Club ladies are back on the hunt for a killer in this hardest-to-put down mystery of the series！ Sufficient backstory is included so that one can jump right in and enjoy Halloween at Happy Trails Campground in Normal， Kentucky。 There is a perfect balance of mystery， relationships， investigation， and day-to-day life at Happy Trails。I love t It was almost too good to be true。 Hank was back in Normal。 He missed Mae and wanted to get back together， but something wasn’t adding up。 Mae and the Laundry Club ladies are back on the hunt for a killer in this hardest-to-put down mystery of the series！ Sufficient backstory is included so that one can jump right in and enjoy Halloween at Happy Trails Campground in Normal， Kentucky。 There is a perfect balance of mystery， relationships， investigation， and day-to-day life at Happy Trails。I love the atmosphere that the author paints for us！ I really enjoy the sounds， sights， and smells of Daniel Boone National Forest as Mae experiences them。 I especially like how the campground looks at night with Halloween decorations and pumpkins carved by guests。 The head forest ranger where Hank last worked， Mammoth Cave， is looking for him。 He is wanted for questioning in the murder of a man。 Hank and Mae discussed it， as it puts Mae， her business， employees， and guests at risk if she is harboring someone involved with a murder。 Suddenly， Hank’s obnoxious sister， Ellis， joins them。 She is the real suspect in the murder of her former lover， Walter， at one of the caves。 Hank is also wanted for going on the run with， and hiding， her。Hank and Ellis want Mae’s help to clear her。 Ellis， however， has only ever done things to cause problems for Mae。 She tried many times to split Hank and Mae up， and despite their rocky past， Hank won’t let his Ellis get railroaded。 Hank and Ellis will leave immediately and be in touch when possible。Mae will help primarily because looking for clues and putting them together is an addiction， a “strange itch” that she needs to scratch。 She and the Laundry Club Ladies have proven how good they are at solving murders many times。 Four of the five friends， Mae， Dottie， Abby， and Betts， go on a road trip。 It was time to see where the murder took place， attend the funeral， and meet the current and ex-wives。 There could have been several people interested in killing Walter。 The only witness with any information certainly makes it sound like Ellis did it。Mae， her friends， and her family are the kind of people I would enjoy knowing！ Mae continues to learn and grow through the circumstances she finds herself in， as do the other younger and middle-aged characters。 Dottie is one of my favorites。 She is at the age where she says what she feels like saying and she can be funny without even trying！ Regarding another woman in the story， Dottie says， “I wouldn’t trust （her） if her tongue come notarized。” That’s the kind of laugh I need！ It’s almost like comfort food to know that “Dottie was just Dottie， and there was no changing her。”This was a hard mystery to solve， even if one painstakingly follows everything that looks like a clue！ I didn’t get whodunit until just before Mae did。 I was stunned at the turn of events that we close with this time！ For anyone who needs an armchair camping trip， enjoys being involved in the mystery， Southern humor， and good friends， you can’t go wrong with this mystery or series！ I highly recommend this; the series just keeps getting better！From a thankful heart: I received an advance reader copy of this novel， and this is my honest review。 。。。more

I love this mystery series and this edition is a fine addition！ When Hank’s sister is accused of murder， Mae and the Laundry Club Ladies swing into action。 Ms。 Kappes is a fine storyteller combining a nice twisty mystery， endearing characters and plenty of Southern charm。 I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one。 I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary， unbiased review。

Hank admits that he needs Mae’s help in clearing his sister Ellis。 Ellis is suspected in killing a park ranger she was dating。 The park ranger was already married three time and was still married to the 3rd。 Lots of suspects besides Ellis。 But does Mae really want to work for Ellis？ Fortunately， Mae and the Laundry Ladies agree to help。 I loved the Halloween setting。 Of course， Mae and the Laundry Ladies were great。 It will be interesting to see where Hank and Mae go after this adventure。

Another fun installment of Camper and Criminals。 This time Fall is the perfect time to solve a mystery。 Mae and the Laundry Girls roll up their sleeves to solve this murder at Mammoth Cave。 The banter and well paced plot are worth the read。 Clues are everywhere and Tonya keeps you guessing！ This mystery was the perfect cozy read this time of year！ I highly recommend it。
